Andy Fraser

Managing Director and Principal Engineer


Andy is our Managing Director and Principal Engineer with 40 years of Civil and Structural Engineering experience with the last 25 years in Taranaki. 

His local knowledge of the various industry sectors and key people, and his management of the business operations is fundamental to the success of Red Jacket.

Andy is one of our Chartered Professional Engineers.

Andy founded Red Jacket in 2003 and leads the team with unwaning enthusiasm and passion.   He believes good business is all about building solid relationships with clients.

Andy ventures into the great outdoors with his partner Amanda, biking on mountain bike trails, skiing, kayaking rivers, playing in the waves, and often with their very active German Shepherd Elsa.

Grant Sarich

Structural Designer

MEngNZ, BTech (Product Development)

Grant is one of Red Jacket’s Company Directors and has 15 plus years’ experience in design and drafting in various construction and engineering industries. 

Grant joined Red Jacket in 2014 and has a keen interest in construction and building technology. He is very close to completing his CPEng qualification.

Grant is also a keen surfer and watersports enthusiast who relocated to the ‘Naki from the Bay of Plenty for the outdoor pursuits the Taranaki region offers.

Luke Bunn

Senior Civil Engineer

B.Eng.Tech (Civil), NZDE (Civil)

Luke is one of Red Jacket’s Company Directors and has 9 years’ experience in the engineering and construction industries within the Taranaki region.  His background is predominantly in civil construction both as a contractor and a consultant.

Luke joined Red Jacket in 2018 and has a special interest in residential, commercial, and industrial developments. 

Outside of work Luke is a keen rugby player and keeps fit by road cycling and mountain biking.

Chris Miller

Senior Civil Engineer

CPENG, CMEngNZ, NZDE Civil, B.Eng.Tech (Civil)

Chris is a Company Director and has 15 years’ experience in the engineering industry within the Manawatu/Wanganui and Taranaki regions.  He started his career with an engineering cadetship studying extramurally towards a Diploma in Engineering (Civil) and continued this professional development by completing a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) and an Engineering New Zealand Knowledge Assessment.

Chris is the man to go to for all things civil – geotechnical, 3-waters, roading (geometrics and pavements) and traffic.  His passion lies in roading design and pavements.

Chris having obtained his CPEng in 2019 is one of our two valued Chartered Professional Engineers.

When not in the office Chris is an avid mountain-biker and fisherman.


Philip Tully

Senior Civil Structural Designer

NZCD Architectural

Philip joined the Red Jacket team in 2017 and is our drafting technician with over 25 years’ experience in this area.  His drafting knowledge covers most aspects of civil, structural and petrochemical industries. 

Working with AUTOCAD & REVIT packages Philip provides clear concise drawings for our projects.  His time is invaluable, and all projects, both big and small, benefit from Philip’s attention to detail.

Outside of the workplace Philip enjoys spending time with his wife and boys.

Matt Phillips

Civil Structural Engineer

BE(Hons) Civil

Matt joined the Red Jacket team in 2018 and has 6 plus years of experience in the Structural Engineering industry.

Matt lectures the Structures 1 courses at the WITT helping the next generation of Engineers.

Matt is interested in using new technologies to make more community resilient buildings and is currently working towards obtaining his CPEng.

Outside of work Matt loves to keep active with cycling and running.  He is a social butterfly and enjoys hosting BBQs and social occasions.

Nick Siffleet

Civil Structural Engineer

Nick first joined the Red Jacket team in 2014 but left in 2018 for a short time to further his career and gained some valuable experience in the oil and gas industry.  Unable to stay away for long, he returned in 2019. 

Nick is studying towards his Civil Engineering degree.  His experience in civil works, site inspections, bridges and soil testing is invaluable.  He also has an interest in structural design and is also working towards becoming a Chartered Professional Engineer.

Service is one of Nick’s strong points and with him in charge of your project you can rest assured it will be given the best attention.

Outside of work Nick’s physiotherapy qualification from life before engineering, maintains his interest in staying fit and healthy. He and his wife stoically maintain they are ‘sticking to dogs’ as they are more obedient than kids. We’ll see.

William Adlam

Civil Engineer

BE(Hons) Civil

Will joined the Red Jacket team in 2019.  A Taranaki boy he spent four years studying in Christchurch, gaining summer internship experience working in the civil and roading industry.

Will enjoys a good mix of both civil and structural engineering and loves to get out on site whenever he can.

Will has spent some time working as a Structural Engineer in Taranaki’s oil and gas industry. He is working towards CPEng assessment in the future.

Mitchell Moratti

Civil Engineer

B.Eng.Tech (Civil)

The newest member of the Red Jacket team, Mitchell joined us at the start of 2020 just in time for the COVID19 lockdown.  Despite this, his dedication and commitment has already made him a valued member of the team.  Born and bred in rural Taranaki, Mitchell is a recent Bachelor or Engineering Technology (Civil) graduate. 

Mitchell’s specialty areas for engineering are the three waters, but he enjoys all aspects of Civil engineering.  He also has a passion for Geotechnical engineering and likes nothing more than getting out in the field.

Outside of work Mitchell enjoys the great outdoors, either hunting or fishing, playing cricket, and small-bore rifle shooting.  He enjoys spending time with family and friends in both Taranaki and Wellington.

Michelle Clark


Michelle is Red Jacket’s company Administrator.  Having joined Red Jacket in 2015 she is responsible for keeping the motor running.  With an extensive background in administration, accounts and office management in varied industries, her role with Red Jacket focusses on providing administrative support for the team so things keep ticking along smoothly.

Her voice is the one on the other end of the phone when you call, but she has also been known to don heavy boots and a hardhat when the occasion has called.

Taranaki born and bred Michelle likes to spend time with her 2 children, family and friends and loves to take time to travel when she can.
